Arguably this route is not in the Irish Sea, but we reckon it's near enough - a 46 km crossing between Northern Ireland and the Inner Hebridean island of Islay. On the way you need to dodge the fast flows around Rathin Island and leave enough room for the tide race at The OA. Of course Islay may well reward you for your efforts, as you land a short distance from the nearest distillery.
