Video – On The Ebb 360 – Training in The Swellies

by John Willacy

This gives you an idea of one of my training sessions in the Swellies.
Today it is a low-intensity session working the technical aspects of Taran boat handling on moving water – ferry glides, breakouts, crosses, climbs and surfing.
The aim running throughout the session is accurate positioning on all of these moves, and then the consistency of that accurate positioning.
The boat should be positioned within half a boat length max of any aim point – every time.

So the session works 4 factors:
Position
Angle
Repetition
Consistency

And each move can be broken down into:
Position
Angle
Timing
Power
Speed

It’s a low intensity session but valuable for maintaining skills and brings plenty of fun too.
